Prominent Women of Rome

Ancient Rome was ruled by men, women had very few if any rights. They were not allowed to vote and were barred from entering politics. They were responsible for running the household; In all other matters they would defer to their father or husband’s rules.
Even so, there were many strong influential women of Rome and wives of emperors.
