Vikings enjoyed feasts, festivals and celebrations, holding them for many reasons including religious rituals, weddings and successful raids.
The quality of the feast depended on the wealth and status of the Viking family, although food was plentiful for everyone at the feast. Plenty of ale, mead and wine was drank.

There were short feasts lasting two or three days, and others lasting up to twelve days.

Feasts took place all year round, although there were more in summer when food was plentiful; weddings also took place in summer and autumn.

Feasts included:

Dancing

Poetry
